I searched for a long time for a place near Paris, 1h30 max by car, which was in the countryside, in a bucolic place, with a nice decor (you feel better there), full of kindness towards children and with fun activities for them and I found it!
The charming B&B, La Lévrière, run by Margaux is clearly a place that I recommend, a few hours from Paris (1h20), in the heart of pretty Normandy, a few minutes from a forest, and a magnificent village: Lyons la forêt where there is an adorable market square, stone and half-timbered houses and very good little traditional restaurants with comforting fireplaces.
The greyhound is made up of several old stone buildings full of history where there are several rooms.
We chose the master suite which was under the roof and full of charm. It has a very large bedroom with a child's bed at the entrance with a curtain separating it from the parents' bedroom. Both practical and pleasant to be in the same room while being able to keep your privacy.
Everything is tastefully decorated: the sheets are made of washed linen (very pleasant), the curtains and the matching blankets, in a simple, refined and chic look and the bathroom has a crazy charm with its beams and light colors. Little extra: the bathtub is huge and after a day of walking in the forest, it is a real moment of pleasure and relaxation!
On the ground floor, guests have a very nicely decorated recreation room, again with sofas, a games cupboard for the children and a kitchen near a stove where Margaux serves us a delicious breakfast.
Margaux loves making homemade cakes, her husband's bread and jams are all equally good (and also homemade with fruit from the garden)!
At the bottom of the garden, this place has a vegetable garden with chickens and its vegetables (self-sufficient) enhance the table d'hôte menu offered by this peaceful place every evening.
There is also a hiking trail at the bottom of the garden, allowing you to walk from the guest room without having to take the car.
There are also ponies and a pleasant river where you can swim in the summer. And on sunny days, breakfast is served by the river.
To top it all off, this B&B offers exceptional value for money: less than 100 euros per night.
I highly recommend this place to recharge your batteries on the weekend with your family without breaking the bank.
