How to get pregnant fast?

Y ou have been trying to get pregnant for months and it still isn't working? Every month, you see your period coming and you lose hope? You wonder: will I also have the chance to experience the joy of having a child one day? So, how can you put all the chances on your side to get pregnant? Today, Neuvième Ciel gives you some tips to help you get pregnant quickly.

Know your menstrual cycle and your most fertile period

The first tip is to know your menstrual cycle (the duration) and determine your ovulation day which is 14 days before your next period. Around this ovulation day, i.e. 4 days before and 1 day after, you will find the most fertile period. It is recommended to have intercourse during this period, ideally every day, to maximize your chances of getting pregnant. There are also many applications that allow you to estimate your next period, your ovulation day and your most fertile period.

Take an ovulation test

If you have any doubts, you can get an ovulation test, sold in pharmacies, to be sure to identify your most fertile period. These work like a pregnancy test, they test the urine to detect the hormone level that increases each month during ovulation and causes the release of an egg by the ovaries. In some cases, it is more difficult to predict the time of ovulation but it is generally said that it occurs 14 days before the arrival of the period. Indeed, some women have irregular cycles and it is more difficult to predict this period. Thanks to these tests, you can more easily predict the time of ovulation and therefore the most fertile period.

However, ovulation tests may not work in some cases: for women with polycystic ovaries because the tests detect the increase of a hormone (LH) but which, in the case of polycystic ovaries is often higher than the test's positivity threshold. It is therefore important to talk to your doctor about it.

Don't drink too much coffee

It has been proven that consuming more than 500 milligrams of caffeine per day, or 2 cups of coffee, is associated with decreased fertility in women. A woman trying to get pregnant should therefore limit her coffee consumption in order to maximize her chances of pregnancy. The same goes for tea consumption, as theine also contains caffeine in small doses.

No longer consume alcohol

Alcohol is strictly forbidden during pregnancy, as it can affect the development of the baby. In addition, it is recommended to avoid drinking alcohol to get pregnant, as it can reduce your chances of pregnancy. Note that alcohol can also affect male fertility, so it is advisable to limit your consumption to two to three glasses of alcohol per day maximum, and if possible, none.

Quit smoking

It is highly recommended to quit smoking to get pregnant faster. Indeed, smoking causes fertility problems in both women and men. The chemicals that make up cigarettes: nicotine and carbon monoxide, promote miscarriages in women. In addition, tobacco affects the aging of the ovaries in women and reduces their ovarian reserve prematurely. In addition, women wishing to get pregnant should stay away from cigarette smoke because it can also affect their fertility.

Practice moderate physical activity

While it is good for your health to exercise because it helps you maintain an ideal weight and stay in shape, too much exercise can prevent ovulation and your chances of getting pregnant. Of course, every woman is different when it comes to the effects of exercise. Indeed, if you are very sporty by nature and your periods are regular, you can continue exercising as you used to. On the other hand, if you were not used to exercising, this is not the time to start doing it intensively. In order to put all the chances on your side to get pregnant, it is recommended to exercise moderately. For example, you can do brisk walking: two and a half hours per week (or at least 30 minutes per day, 5 days per week). Brisk walking is the best sport for women who want to get pregnant and for mothers-to-be.

Eat healthy

There is no specific diet to promote fertility. However, in order to maximize your chances of a possible pregnancy, it is important to provide your body with all the nutrients it needs (calcium, protein and iron) to help prepare your body for pregnancy. Foods rich in folate also provide all the reserves that your baby will need to develop in your body (cheese, eggs, green vegetables, wheat germ). So eat as many fruits and vegetables as possible, lean proteins, whole grains and dairy products. All of these intakes will promote your future pregnancy. Thus, foods such as dark green leafy vegetables (broccoli, salad), whole wheat breads, rice and pasta and beans are among the foods that promote fertility. In addition, some foods are not recommended because of their very high mercury content. The main ones are swordfish, shark, salmon, king mackerel and tilefish.

While getting pregnant may seem easy for some women, it can seem like a real obstacle course for others. It is important to try to relax and not focus on this desire even if it is far from easy to implement.

Also, if you have been trying to conceive a child for more than a year following these rules, it is recommended that you go see a fertility specialist to have a complete assessment for you and your husband. This will allow them to assess whether there are any potential medical reasons to explore and correct them in order to realize your baby project.
